Discussion: It is a part of a huge midden placed in N part of the area excavated in 2008. Its exploration was complicated as its part were placed underneath several walls(11583,12237,15889) oriented NS in this part of the trench. However, during the exploration it became clear that the unit 17617 was identical with already defined adjacent midden (15895, 17603, 15887) as regards their depositional history. Stratigraphically, the midden 17617 was placed on white and well preserved floor 17618 of B81.
This relation implies that the midden was deposited just after the abandonment of the B 81. Due to the recorded sloping surface(S,SE) of the midden, it seems that the entire deposit was truncated by some kind of activities which additionally destroyed SW part of the floor 17618 of B81. This irregular cut was later filled in by compact midden deposit rec as u.17637.
