Unit 18313
Category: Layer dug in 2009
Area: Trench 5
Interpretive Categories: Roomfill
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: 4.90m x 1.73m, depth 12 cm
Discussion: As the level we had taken the space 341 down to in 2008 has dried out over the winter, we had to scrape it down a few centimeters more. As 16859 was arbitrary, 18313 is the same as 16859. After removal of 18313 we can see that 341 is divided into a western part that is very compact yellow and almost void of finds and an eastern part that looks more mixed and has a lot of big sherds in it.
As of 09.08.2009, the disturbed soil in the E of space 341 continues into 340. İn order to create a sensible plan and seperate the contexts in future units, we extend 18313 as an arbitrary unit.
Unit 18313 strecthes from space 340 to 341. Methodology is the same, but the soil in space 340 is a little different to the description given on the unit sheet. Its consistency is more loose than in space 341, and the colour is more yellowish - grey. Lumps of plaster are included. Space 340 is also disturbed by animal burrows.
Samples were not taken as unit contains two or three contexts.
