Discussion: following clearing of SE corner of space 71 after the removal of base packing under lowest floors, clear patch of distinct material showing at base of where we believe ladder access was located. Very blocky, re-worked looking deposits, now excavated as 1929. Mixed in are lenses of ash on the west side of deposits, i.e. next to FI 39. Dry Sieve Information: Unknown if any dry sieve but probably not

Consistency: Moderately weak 

Colour: Dark brown 

Texture: clay 

Bedding: massive, blocky 

Inclusions: charred bits <2% 

Post-depositional Features: trampled re-worked 

Basal Boundary: uneven, distinct
