Unit 20460
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Arbitrary midden layer
Data Category Information: Location: in abandoned building; Deposition: finely bedded
Dimensions: 2.8m N-S x 2.4m E-W x 0.15 m thick
Discussion: This is another arbitrary layer in the midden filling the space below building 108. The only difference to the previous two layers was that this layer was clearly laminated at the bottom. During excavation yet another wall was discovered (F.3679). The midden seems to be accumulated against a yellow clay layer alongside it. The part of the layer between the newly discovered wall F.3646 and the wall to the north, F. 3626 seems to be of a different kind - more greyish, firmer and with fewer inclusions. The northern meter of the unit is probably more of an infill layer.
Excavated as an arbitrary 0.15 m thick spit layer (Z1012.55-1012.40).
Recognition: Arbitrary layer of midden different colour than around.
Definition: Up to a wall in N, up to a section in W, up to cut in E, and up to excavated unit in S
