Discussion: (3615) represents the fill of cut (3616) in the N part of space 117. The material was very homogenous brown and clayey, with concentration of charcoal flecks on the upper and lower surfaces (probably from the surfaces above/below). The unit lay above a charcoal layer which may be the product of the burning of a post, and was incorporated with the unit. 

Recognition: Darker, greyish/brown colour and lighter charcoal centre. 

Definition: Defined by salt encrustation. 

Execution: Trowel/leaf trowel. 

Condition: Dry and crumbly. 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: 10 YR 4/2 dark greyish brown 

Texture: silty clay loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional charcoal/burnt clay flecks/small pieces + flecks of plaster and tiny pebbles 

Post-depositional Features: heavily encrusted with salts and disturbed by roots 

Basal Boundary: sharp/distinct/anthropogenic/smooth/level
