Unit 3656
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: floor make up
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: floor (packing only); Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0.58 m E-W x 0.88 m N-S x 0.02 m deep
Discussion: Small patch of brown material adjacent to eastern-most oven in 117. Petering out to the W. Appears to be the W continuation of (3647) from square to the E and overlies the same grey ashy layer. If this is so then it represents a broad layer which spreads out ?? under floor deposits and is therefore floor make up but also laps up unto the platform in SE corner thus also being a later pahse of this (see (3647)).
* Obsidian fragment x find is a small square flake taken untouched for possible scientific analysis. It is not to be touched or washed as analysis for possible wood making residue is required.
Recognition: Thin layer of brown material underlying burnt material corresponding to (3647) in square to the E.
Definition: Clear boundary with lower ashy material, Petering out to the W.
Execution: Trowel and leaf trowel from E edge of square.
