Dimensions: 80 x 0.45 high; 0.20 - 0.25 deep 

Discussion: Initially this was believed to be the N half of wall 253 which had been excavated last season. However after further excavation it became quite clear that what Jon (Last) had recorded in 1997, that half the wall to the S was constructed of a different brick + mortar type to the N, was the result of two separate constructions. See wall 253. So (3706) represents the top courses of wall 259, same as was dug as (2750) in 1997. Dry Sieve Information: Probably some dry sieve but amount unknown

Colour: 2.5 Y 5/3 -4 light olive brown 

Texture: silty clay loam 

Bedding: (brick) massive 

Inclusions: < 2 % charcoal (but consistently present)
