Unit 3788
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: building dump
Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: coarsely bedded (dumps)
Dimensions: 8 cm by 60 cm by c.7 cm
Discussion: Looks like a discrete dump of building material, fairly solid spread, although to the W intermixed with more patchy soft material. As we dug towards the W the material again became more solid and a lot harder. We isolated this changed material which may be a wall and thus defines the W extent of (3788).
Recognition: Contains a lot of building material, brown on same horizon as (3773).
Definition: N extent - midden section. E -abutts (3773) (which also continues underneath it), S - abutts (3773) (which also continues below). W - defined by possible wall.
Execution: Mattock.
Condition: Very dry.
Consistency: Very compact.
Colour: Between 10 YR 6/3 + 5/3 pale brown + brown, also areas of 10 YR 6/4 + 5/4 light yellowish brown/yellowish brown and 10 YR 5/6 yellowish brown
