Area: South

Site Sketch: Click here to open in a new window

Interpretive Categories: wear/worn hole through floor

Data Category Information: Description: scoop

Dimensions: 0.39 N-S x 0.38 E-W x 0.08

Discussion: (3900) represents a 'cut' through the upper floors in the S half of space 117, contemporary to the lip feature 289 to its E. Rather than being an active 'cut' it seems more likely from its irregular form and 'puddled' fill to represent a longer period of wear through these floor layers.

Recognition: A clear edge cutting through floor layers t the S and W.

Definition: See A.

Execution: Trowel/leaf.

Shape: irregular/sub-circular in plan

Sides: the sides were slightly stepped to the n and steep towards the top of the cut, to the S they were gradual

Base Break: the base of break of slope was fairly sharp to the N (120 degrees?) smooth + more continous to the N

Base: slightly uneven base but smooth + distinct

Orientation: no clear orientation

All Layers within:contained fill (3695)
