Discussion: Deposit of burnt 'oven debris' lying over internal base of oven F.269 half of which was excavated in 1997 as (2800). The material also spread beyond the confines of the feature where it was called (2795). 

Recognition: Clear orange deposit underlying base of F.269. 

Definition: Clearly confined within F.269 + overlying contrasting base of the feature. 

Execution: Trowel, leaf trowel from N edge. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: firm orange and friable brown continents 

Colour: 10 YR 4/4 dark yellowish brown/ 7.5 YR 6/6 reddish yellow 

Texture: silty clay loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 1% medium obsidian flakes, 5% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: roots 

Basal Boundary: clear/smooth/anthropogenic/sloping up at S edge
