Discussion: Mixed layer, originally thought to be feature fill, but on excavation appeared to be differential infill where material overlay a brick feature (probably offset wall of building below). 

Recognition: Differential mixed deposit against the east wall of Space 173, towards the south of the space 

Definition: Clear edge exaggerated by root lines 

Execution: Trowel from edges 

Condition: Dry and friable 

Consistency: Friable 

Colour: Mid brown and grey 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: <2% medium bone fragments and charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: Some root disturbance 

Basal Boundary: Clear, smooth, anthropic
