Description: A cluster of obsidian flakes and an end scraper scattered over a small area within the matrix of the floor deposits contained in unit 4978
Discussion: 4980 was a cluster of obsidian flakes and an 'end scraper' that were scattered over a small area within the matrix of the compound layer of floors and occupation debris 4978. They were not held within a cut and probably represent one of the various deposits of occupation debris that were contained within unit 4978. Since they were scattered rather than distinctly clustered, they were never visible as an entity, and so were not planned or photographed in any detail. However, they were collected and recorded as a separate unit of interest and the area that they covered and its position were noted in case the pieces refitted.
