Entry: We have continued to down the topsoil of unit 15357 (about 20cm down). Since the beginning of the excavation we have down about 60-70cm in this unit and we follow the “natural” slop. Near to the burial area (unit 15346), I noted several perturbations like... click here for more...

Entry: CMB and I are still working on unit 15357. We have moved a lot of dirt today and had a lot of finds, but there is still much topsoil to remove. I do hope that we can finish clearing the unit tomorrow. We only had one worker to help us sift for just a par... click here for more...

Entry: Excavation in the units with much soil went slowly today as the two sifting workman were missing. DLG continued U.15358, CMB and DKK continued U.15357. HLS continued going down and finding the cut in pit F.3331. It is now rather clear that there must be a... click here for more...

Entry: I continued to take down the unit 15357 to join the level of the wall F. 5058 (part west of the area). I had to remove nearly 40-50cm of soil. Therefore, I decided to go down an arbitrary level of 10-15cm and to level the area as soon as possible. One aim... click here for more...

Entry: BOD continued removing lenses of infill in Spaces 450 and 452 (scraping U.15372). While doing so, she exposed further the plaster lump U.15373 which now really looks like a lump rather than a construction and continues further into the fill under bench F.... click here for more...

Entry: I finished the unit 15357 and in the west of the area the wall F.2424 continued on 45 centimeters wide. It seems that we see the end but it’s possible that so many perturbations cut this structure. The wall is clearly visible (level dark and level white) ... click here for more...

Entry: The unit 15357 is finish and we have token photo. The burial area (F.15346) was leveled but we didn’t see the cut of the burial. On the other hand, we saw very clearly the “pit” with its grey-black and loose sediment. I excavated it and it seemed to be mo... click here for more...
