Unit 1327
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: fill of depression in floor
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: scoop; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Small deposit of very ashy material filling depression / cut in floor. Probably cuts/cut by pit (1326) (1325) but also under layer (1319). However it seems to underlie deposit (1269) also a pit fill and this may therefore be the basal deposit of the same pit- yet the cut was not visible until (1319) was removed and (1325) both of which are very similar in places. The alternative in (1269) is part of (1325). Dry Sieve Information: Unknown if any dry sieve but probably not
Execution: Trowel
Condition: Dry
Consistency: Slightly firm
Colour: 2.5YR 3/2 (Dusky red)
Texture: Sandy loam
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: Organics (voids) 20-30 % <0.5 cm, charcoal 2% <1cm
Post-depositional Features: None
Basal Boundary: Discrete, sharp <2-5 mm, smooth, rounded
