Discussion: Mudbrick in mudbrick wall F.2424, running roughly north-south alignment.

JMR 14/8/11 The micromorphological sample was taken from the brick and mortar of F.2424.

2012: This unit represents the mud brick layers of the eastern wall of B.105 (F.2424). The mud bricks of this wall are of a light gray silt with inclusions of bits of charcoal and lime, along with pottery, animal bones, stones, obsidian, and shell. The bricks seem relatively uniform in size, but this is difficult to say for sure as most of the wall remained unexcavated. Wall F.2424 is fully bonded at its northern edge with wall F.5051.

TMK and TSK 26.08.2013:

Top 50cm excavated gradualy to get access to less eroded and burrowed layers. Plaster on west fasing wall is sampled (u.15323). Also phytolits layer I sampled (s9). The layer continues into the buttress(f.5063), sugesting contemporanity. Botanists says that phytolits are from reeds or similar plants, based on the length of the silica.

The wall slopes down to the west into the building 105. This suggest that the wall may be earlier than than the buttress nect to it (f. 5063), which may have been built to support the wall and prevent its collapse. But could the slopng postdae the buttress? Also phytolits and pottery suggests cotemporaneous costruction of the features.

TSK 26.08.13:
Simmilar to feature 3303 the feature 2424 was expected to be independent from the buttress f. 5063 and the wall f.3303. The section showed that the mortar and mudbrick lines are clearly connected. Our conclussion was that there must be a double wall beneath said units. The double wall was given the number f.3380.

Unit 16850 was excavated under the assumption of being a part of an independent feature and is treated as such in this sheet. The volume of the mortar unit 16849 was collected toether with this unit.
