Unit 20943
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: rubble of fallen wall
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: The rubble of fallen wall composed of mid-orange bricks and light-orange mortar was recorded in situ within the Northern part of Sp.511. Taking into consideration the preservation of the rubble that allowed the identification of particular courses of bricks and mortar it is highly possible that the location where the unit was uncovered remains exactly the spot where it collapsed in the past and afterward was wrapped by midden deposits (U: 19564). From a stratigraphical point of view the unit together with the southern rubble (U.20942) represent the latest phase that could be related with space 511, and they both are reminiscent of a disintegration episode that occurred probably after sealing the whole structure by dumping material. The latter is confirmed by the fact that the described rubble laid directly on the earlier midden (U. 20965), covering the mentioned space interior.
