Discussion: Compound arbitrary layer (in spatial terms) in SP500 between partition wall F7708 and curtain wall F7990 that is in essence a massive first or second constructional levelling/packing layer predating the walls of B131. Layer was extremely compact and clayish with sparse and randomly found inclusions across (pieces of mudbricks, mortar, charcoal flecks and such). Top of this layer was clustered with remnants of units from previous excavations that were patchy and floating. 

Consistency: compact 

Colour: light grey/light yellow 

Texture: silty clay, more clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: small fragments of mudbricks 

Post-depositional Features: baking 

Basal Boundary: distinctive, uneven
