Unit 8199
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Firstly, on the surface, between two white plaster basin-like blocks a thick layer of packing was visible. We left balck stripes (seems like packing too) As a boundary of unit towards the east we came down to cracky and not very well made white floor (took that as sample 4), went through packing that was tighlty packed, but looks like deposited trifly, very solid, through still powdery white plaster ( base of unit) now goes both under 8224 to the south and 8254 to the north. Not sure about the function of this packing, what comes first to my mind is that dwellers, for some reason had to till the gap with not very esthetically nice material (floor wither heavily truncated, worn, but no proper clues for that assumption). Not yet convinced this is just a part of basin, more inclined to believe it had some other function/ reason for such a packing deposited very quickly in order to prevent something? Or some kid just practiced how to make a floor?
