Discussion: Mottled brown unit which makes up the outer layer of platform F.287 in SE corner of space 117. Along the N face of the platform it laps up fully against the inner platform layer and spreads NW under the floor (3636). To the E and NE the platform appears more ??. (3647) is much thinner here and laps up slightly into the lower platform deposits. The layer below this, also laps up to edges of platform and spreads out under the floor to N and W. This pattern gives the impression that following the early phases of platform construction which appear to define the general shape of the feature. There was also a deposit of a darker burnt layer which partly laps up against the feature followed by (3647) which provided an outer rendering, it also spread out away from the feature. Only then was floor (3636) laid on top.
Recognition: Seen as layer on N edge of platform F.287 following removal of floor (3636).
