Discussion: Tracking: Full-On.

This unit was to clear away the wall fall on top of the western wall of feature 1952 and to find the location of the western wall if possible. This unit consisted of large slabs of plaster as well as fill underneath them. Removal of the unit showed that it was the same as 7960 but had more plaster on top of the fill. The surface at the bottom of the unit joined with the thin plaster surface of 7960. The unit ends with unit 7966, which was at first believed to be the westen wall of the bin, as it is a plastered wall on the western end of the bin. However, the construction of 7966 implies that was not made at the same time as the rest of the bin, and from the way 7966 has been cut, it seems that 7966 came before the bin was constructed and was cut by it's contruction. Units 7963 and 7964 would have once made up the western wall, most probably, but have since been truncated.

The plaster on 7966 did not extend all the way to the plaster floor, but stopped about 3-5 cm from the surface, at the same level that the plaster end on the souther wall in unit 7960. The profile in 7966 shows a series of striations, looking like many unplastered surfaces going below the bin. These striations look very similar to those foiund in unit ==== which is directly below the bin.

Thickness of unit estimated in PX (DE 18/07/09).
