Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: oven; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous

Dimensions: 0.97 m N-S x 0.8 m E-W x 8 mm thick

Discussion: This deposit showed up clearly in section (97/366) as being some kind of bedding for the oven 82 structure. The matrix was quite distinct, thick, homogenous, dense and sandy, same as (2309) to the east and possibly the same event as (2717) although any relationship had been lost through animal burrowing. However on digging the deposit wasn't as consistent as first appeared and its relationship with the surrounding (2756) is also unclear due to heavy cracking.

Execution: trowel

Condition: dry

Consistency: moderately weak

Colour: towards centre 5 YR 4/2 dark reddish grey phasing out in concentration towards edges where colour is more between 10 YR 6/3 pale brown to 6/4 light yellowish brown
