Unit 2000
Category: layer dug in 1997
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: make up,room fill
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 1.50m E-W 1.70m N-S 0.11m thick
Discussion: Rain delayed work as deposit needed time to dry to work on and put through sieve.
Fairly mixed and well sorted deposit, homogenous room backfill.
08.09 SF: Its fairly clear that this represents the beginning of room infill overlain by levelling deposits immediately prior to floors
23.09.97 SF: Having excavated the remaining half of this space, the equivalent deposit tot the West appears to be (2905), and therefore this now appears to be a levelling / make-up deposit post construction of the walls.
Unfortunately this was chose as a priority unit as infill of the building.

Unit description: F 29 subsamoled for ZooMS (DCO 2014).
A very small unit - c. 30 fragments - with only a couple of diagnostics (O/C tibia, O/C mandible). Very fragmented, although one piece is 10 cm long. A few pieces are burnt; a couple possibly digested; surface condition shows some quite battered and abraded, as if having moved around. Therefore seems fairly mixed assemblage. Mainly 003 pieces - with crania, ribs, verts and long bones represented. Some long bone 007 frags. 4mm flotation sample #1 was completely recorded and mainly consisted of 003 size animal bone fragments that were occasionally burnt. Last record = F39Figurine Records: Yes
