Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: composite (floor/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation)
Discussion: In this unit I have excavated the packing between upper floor of room (long narrow) with oven. Space 70 and the earlier floor.
The earlier floor is not very fine it is very thin and fragile partly burnt, at the south-east corner of the unit. I have found a cluster of salt packed in the soil of packing more than this. I have found a broken horn crossing the wall on the west of unit.
Sections of the unit quite clear and does not show any other layer or levelling with in the pack.
For Unit 1410 'B'
At the north-east corner of that section, I found two pieces of obsidian, stone, bone, building material.

Unit description: Small-medium unit, rather weathered, little burning. Variety of sizes of fragments + taxa, including some large pieces of large mammals. Sample 1 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Moderate-size sample of mostly tiny sheep-size fragments. A little burning, high and low temperatures. Some digestion. Most looks somewhat weathered and worn; kicked around. Looks like very dirty floor. Sample 3 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Tiny sample of 6 tiny pieces of sheep-size scrap, rather weathered/kicked around. No burning. Looks like clean floor. Sample 5 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Much larger sample, mostly tiny little crumbles of sheep-size with some large mammal, but also some larger pieces. A little burning, some digestion.
